🚗 MADISON TO GLUCKSTADT: SIX LANES ARE IN THE PLANS! 🎉
If you’ve ever crawled along I‑55 wondering whether you could get home faster on a riding lawn mower… this news is for you! 😂
MDOT has announced plans to widen I‑55 from Highway 463 in Madison to Gluckstadt Road—from four lanes to SIX!
Here’s what’s included:
✅ One additional lane in each direction
✅ Interstate lighting throughout the project limits
✅ Resurfacing approximately 0.77 mile north of Gluckstadt Road
Where does the project stand? It appeared in MDOT’s August 25, 2026 construction bid letting. A firm construction start and completion date have not yet been verified, so keep that lawn mower in the garage for now! 😉
